Seniors Perform - 2023
Mangoes, Marrows & Mellowing - Stories from the Third Age

Seniors Perform is a MATES program to provide opportunities for Seniors to be involved with theatre.
Shows are held in conjunction with Qld Seniors Week.
The production include stories about the Third Age written by MATES members and other seniors. The production is performed by seniors (over 60yo).

ACT 1: MANGOES & MARROWS
Two short murder mysteries written by Sheryl Millard,  directed by Suzanne Kelly.

"Mulch Ado About Marrows"
A journalist heads to the small seaside town of Warrun to meet the locals  growing giant marrows for the annual show.

"Under the Mango Tree" 
Dorothy buries her beloved cat under the mango tree. 

Performed as "read and move" plays where actors are on stage with script in hand.

ACT 2:  MELLOWING
Stories of life as a Senior -  developed for performance on stage. Stories were submitted by Seniors from as far away as Hervey Bay & Toowoomba. Directed by Anna Bober.
