"Must-See" Heartwarming Aussie Comedy
inspired by a true story.
Welcome to the tidy town of Appleton where they call a "spud" a "spud" and nothing's changed for years, until.....
After decades abroad, Dr. Penny Anderson returns to her hometown to establish a medical practice and connect with her roots. Penny discovers a huge disparity in prize money for the town’s famous Potato Race—$1000 for men, only $200 for women. Outraged, she takes a stand, launching a campaign to bring equality to the Appleton Show.
A "spudtacular" comedy with a sackful of colourful Aussie characters.
Melanie Tait's, hit play was originally developed and performed by the Ensemble Theatre in Sydney (2019), and the Qld Theatre Company in 2023. It was recently adapted into a popular movie by the same name.
Entertaining & thought-provoking!
